Rolduc abbey
The almost 900 year old abbey complex Rolduc is the largest surviving abbey in the Netherlands and has a rich history. It's current use is as a conference centre and hotel. It comprises 16 conference rooms with a capacity between 10 to 450 people. The authentic rooms have been renovated and updated with respect for the existing features. It has modern audiovisual equipment and tools.
There is ample free parking space.
It is possible to take a tour accompanied by an experienced guide. See where Ailbertus built his wooden chapel in 1104, where the Augustine choir men used to live, where the subsequent famous boarding school used to be located. All these places can be visited: the abbey church, the crypt, the rococo library, the bishop's room and abbot house.
The forested surroundings and the central location offer an excellent opportunity to combine the conference with relaxing activities, like a walk through the forests or around the four ponds near the complex. There is also a sports field.
