Blasts from the past and their future
Radio observations of gamma-ray bursts provide a unique way to probe the fastest ejecta in stellar explosions and their direct environment. I will discuss how the radio regime compliments the coverage of the broadband gamma-ray burst spectrum, and is crucial in determining their macro- and microphysical parameters. I will describe the possibilities which upgraded and new radio facilities like LOFAR, MeerKAT and AMI will offer in terms of spectral and temporal coverage, and how this will lead to a better understanding of these extreme phenomena.
